Technology completes the product range, consisting of Industrial PCs,
fieldbus components and software PLC/NCs, forming a total automation
system. The Industrial PCs from Beckhoff and the TwinCAT PLC/NC software
are ideally equipped for single and multiple axis positioning tasks with
high dynamic requirements. The extremely fast Industrial PCs, and the
function blocks associated with TwinCAT NC, can handle practically any
driverelated task. The convenient programming of the drive components
using TwinCAT NC PTP (Point To Point) along with the synergy of the

The fieldbus toolkit
Beckhoff provides an extensive range of fieldbus components for all common
I/O and fieldbus systems:
Bus Terminals, Fieldbus Box, Lightbus, PC Fieldbus Cards and Fieldbus
Modules.
With the bus terminals in protection class IP 20, and the Fieldbus Box
modules in protection to IP 67, the complete range is available for all
relevant signal types and fieldbus systems. The Beckhoff Lightbus is the
fast, secure fieldbus system, specially designed to meet the needs of
automation technology. The PC fieldbus cards have been particularly
developed for fast control and for real-time tasks, and can therefore be

Performance from fieldbus to PCI bus
Beckhoff complete their offer of fieldbus components with the PCI-based PC
fieldbus cards for the Lightbus, Profibus, CANopen and DeviceNet. The power
of the intelligent fieldbus cards can be most easily seen in combination
with the TwinCAT software PLC and NC. The cards have been particularly
developed for fast controllers and for real-time tasks such as drive
position control, and can therefore be applied to a wide range of
applications. To enable universal application, the interface cards are
fitted with either one or two fieldbus channels.
TwinCAT I/O makes
available configuration tools and Windows NT/2000 drivers for programs in
any desired high level language (DLLs) and for Visual Basic applications
(ActiveX). Applications with OPC interfaces can access the interface cards
via an OPC server.
